Mission Statement
In complying with the mission of our parent organization, the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL), the Providence Gay Flag Football League (PGFFL) is established as a non-profit, charitable organization promoting competitive co-ed recreational football. Our league has been created with the LGBTQ+ community in mind, but we welcome all players regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. All skill levels are encouraged to participate, play, and volunteer. We are committed to delivering a welcoming and inclusive environment with all league activities including football, and giving back to the community through educational, outreach, volunteer and community service activities. Through flag football, we foster an environment where LGBTQ+ people can:

Learn about and participate in a competitive and friendly team sport environment

Be both competitive and social in a safe and inclusive on and off the field environment

LGBTQ+ Youth Scholarship
Providence Gay Flag Football League will be awarding $1,000 to a graduating Rhode Island high school student or students who will be attending a two- or four-year college or a post-high school career school in the 2021-2022 academic year.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has made high school and/or community sports programs safer for, and more inclusive of, LGBTQIA+ student-athletes, as a role model. In line with the mission of our organization, students of all athletic skill levels, achievement, and contributions are encouraged to apply. The award will be based on responses to the questions in the application and two letters of reference. All LGBTQIA+ students are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Applications must be post-marked no later than Friday, April 30, 2021.
